The Common First Week Video is intended to introduce a student taking an English course, to the instructors and peers. Besides, it motivates a student to diagnose their current communicative shortcomings and set a goal that aligns with the course objectives as well as their scope for improvement.
It is a retrospective video.
My goal for this course also included introducing myself to advanced video-editing and animation.
A defining feature of my video is a visual representation of my communicative process. I created an animation of a bulb pieced together by puzzles. This represents putting together ideas with appropriates vocabulary and sentence organization. My main argument is supported by this visual rhetoric.
If I had more time to revise the video, I would have made certain transitions in the video more seamless.
My video is now public on YouTube and I hope it reaches a greater audience of students who will take the course in the future.
I have included the process documents for this video on the first page of my reflective essay.
